MS Outlook Integration

When Microsoft Outlook is integrated with Content Manager, you can:

When Microsoft Outlook is integrated with Content Manager, there is an additional tab called Content Manager in the Outlook application's ribbon.

It contains the commands:

  • Check In - click to check selected Outlook item(s) into Content Manager using the default style or using a Record Type.
  • Check In with Style - click to select a style to use to check the selected Outlook item(s) into Content Manager.
  • Open Record - click to open selected Outlook item(s) that have already been checked into Content Manager.
  • Open Container - on a Linked Outlook folder, click to open the linked Container or Classification.
  • Check In attachment(s) - click to check in the Outlook item(s) attachments.
  • Progress - click to turn on or off the Progress bar. This allows to you monitor the progress of the check in processes.
  • Check In Styles - click to turn on or off the Check In Styles panel. This allows you to view, create and modify Check In Styles, Linked Folders and default check in style settings to be used when checking mail items into Content Manager.
  • Open Log - click to open the generated log file.
  • Help - click to open the Office Integration help file.
  • Login - enabled when Explicit, ADFS and Azure authentication methods are being used - if a user cancels the login prompt, they can connect to Content Manager using this option. If the user is authenticated successfully the Login button will be disabled.

Supported Mail Item Types

The following Outlook Item types can be checked into Content Manager as a record:

  • Mail Item
  • Report Item
  • Meeting Item
  • Appointment Item
  • Task Item
  • Note Item
  • Post Item
